ECPR General Conference 2017

The Department of Political Science at the University of Oslo is hosting Europe's biggest gathering of political scientists this year!

Johan P. Olsen will talk about Democratic Accountability and the Changing European Political Order in the Plenary Lecture in the University Aula.

ECPR - European Consortium for Political Research - General Conference 2017 - is a platform for lively discussion, inspiring exchange of ideas and great thinking. We at the Department of Political Science look forward to welcome scholars from all over the world, at all career stages, with research interest in the full range of political science. The academic programme will consist of plenary lectures, roundtables and themed sections and panels on topical subjects. The broad programme has sections covering all the main areas of political science.

The General Conference allows you to socialize and network with new and old acquaintances. The General Conference in Oslo will as an additional bonus give you unique art experiences with the possibility to see famous Norwegian artist Edvard Munch’s paintings during the Plenary Lecture in the University Aula and iconic modern architecture at the Opening Reception at the Opera House.

Application - Sections, Panels and Papers

All sections are now confirmed. There are 72 sections so there should be something appealing for every political scientist. The call for themed panels and individual papers is open until midnight GMT 15 February 2017. There will not be a separate call for papers. All panel proposals must include 4-5 papers.  Anyone proposing a paper individually will need to propose it to a specific section. If accepted, the Section Chair will then allocate it to an appropriate panel. Further information with guidelines and deadlines for application.
