EUMARGINS is a collaborative project financed by The Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7) of the European Union. The research focus is on inclusion and exclusion of young adult immigrants in seven European countries.

Young adults of ethnic minority background on the Norwegian labour market

Professor Katrine Fangen and Researcher at PRIO, Erlend Paasche, have written the article "Young adults of ethnic minority background on the Norwegian labour market: The interactional co-instruction of exclusion by employers and customers" published in the December 2012 issue of the journal Ethnicities. Social inclusion of youth on the margins of society

The European Commission has recently published 'Social inclusion of youth on the margins of society- Policy review of research results' which is based on the results from a cluster of five youth-oriented research projects launched in 2008, including EUMARGINS. The draft policy review was discussed at the Evidence-based Policy Conference in Brussels in November 2011. The main content and messages from the conference can be found in the conference report.

The New Hierarchies of Belonging

The journal article "The New Hierarchies of Belonging" by Professor Les Back and Shamser Sinha is now published in the August 2012 issue of the European Journal of Cultural Studies. It generates new conceptual ideas about hierarchies of belonging that characterizes the position of young immigrants in terms of differentiated levels of inclusions.
