Institusjoner og samfunnsmodeller

ESOPs ambisjon er å forstå samspillet mellom politikk, institusjoner og langsiktig utvikling. Hvilke sett av velferdsordninger og institusjoner kan føre til sosial likhet innenfor et konsistent system?

 

Sosial påvirkning og institusjonelle systemer som utfyller hverandre er viktig for å forstå moderne samfunn og den nordiske erfaringen. Visse velferdsordninger, institusjoner og adferder hører sammen og styrker hverandre. På lang sikt kan det virke som om samfunnsmessige anordninger kommer i bestemte sosialt og økonomisk organiserte pakker. Hva er mekanismene bak denne tendensen til at institusjoner er stabile over tid? Finnes det en universell sammenheng mellom likhet og økonomisk utvikling, eller henger likhet og velstand sammen kun under gitte institusjonelle forhold?
