We offer personal academic advising at selected times almost every day of the week.

The academic advising service is located at SV-info. For an appointment, please book in advance by phone (+47) 22 85 48 46 or at our service desk in Eilert Sundts hus. One appointment lasts for 30 minutes.

What we expect from you

Before meeting an advisor, you are expected to familiarize yourself With relevant information on our web sites. By preparing yourself, you will get more out of your meeting. Please look at the University of Oslo's The Service Declaration for information about what to excpect from our advisors.

What we can offer

We provide information about the different study programmes and subject combinations at the Faculty of Social Sciences, rules concerning approval of external education, exchange programmes abroad, leave of absence and regulations at the University of Oslo. As far as possible, we will offer advice to the individual student concerning studies and the study situation.

Who may receive counselling?

  • Anyone planning on applying to a study programme at the Faculty of Social Sciences
  • All bachelor level students at the Faculty of Social Sciences
  • All students planning on taking single courses at the Faculty of Social Sciences
  • All students at the Faculty of Social Sciences planning on partaking in an exchange programme.
