1. Economic inequality and social segregation – insights from mobile phone data?
The aim is to identify and document patterns and mechanisms of social segregation using mobile data.To do so, we combine detailed Norwegian register data on income, transfers, and demographic background with mobile telecom data. In particular, we focus on the relationship between economic inequality and various measures of social integration using data from several countries.
Participants: Andreas Kotsadam and Jo Thori Lind from UiO, and Johannes Bjelland, Bjørn-Atle Reme, and Pål R. Sundby from Telenor.
2. Group decisions and video conference - experimental evidence
The aim is to study how video conferencing influences group decisions. By using experiments where groups perform different types of tasks: problem solving, strategic thinking and creative thinking, we aim to measure group performance in settings where groups meet face-to-face versus using video conference equipment.
Participants: Kjell Arne Brekke and Gaute Torsvik from UiO, and Bjørn-Atle Reme from Telenor.
