Centers

There are three Research centres associated with the Department of Economics. They are all funded by the Research Council of Norway.

Norwegian Fiscal Studies (NFS) is a centre for public economics based on cooperation among researchers from the Department of Economics, the Frisch Centre and the University of Chicago. The overall goal of NFS is to foster high-quality theoretical andempirical tax research with practical relevance for the design, administration, and enforcement of the Norwegian tax system.

ESOP - Centre for the Study of Equality, Social Organization, and Performance is a Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the Department of Economics. The centre was established January 1, 2007. ESOP aims at exploring the links between equality, social organization, and economic performance, both in rich and poor countries. Completed.

Oslo Centre for Research on Environmentally Friendly Energy (CREE)is a social science based energy research centre. It was established in 2011. The main objective of the centre is to develop a new methodological framework for sustainable energy. It is a virtual centre with the contribution of four different research institutions, headed by the Frisch centre. Completed.
