Bent Sofus Tranøy is guest researcher at ARENA from January 2014 (part time), where he is affiliated with the EuroDiv project. He is professor at Hedmark University College and at the Oslo School of Management.

Background
Tranøy holds a PhD from the University of Oslo (UiO) with the thesis 'Losing Credit: The Politics of of Liberalization and Macro-Economic Regime Change in Norway 1980-92(99)' (2000). He is Cand. polit from the UiO and holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Tranøy has held various positions at the UiO (Department of Political Science, Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture (TIK) and the Forum for University History), ARENA, the Norwegian Study of Power and Democracy and Fafo. He has been guest researcher at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center.
